Renovation: Day 23

I was in Hollywood for work all of last week so I wasn’t around to see reno progress hence couldn’t update on reno progress. Sorry Bleaders I’m not sure how you survived without the latest minutia of this renovation.

Came home to not nearly as much accomplished as I was hoping but there were noticeable differences: All of the pipes have been boxed in, including the heating in the closet which now has a wall again, and all of the dry wall was 100% done. Oh and my heated floor in the bathroom and the washing machine were both fixed. Sooo fucking happy!

It’s important to mention here that I took the redeye home from LA and though I did manage to sleep for parts of the flights, when I made it home around 9 am friday morning, all I could think about was my big feather bed.

Unfortunately my contractor showed up before I’d even taken my shoes off and told me all of the painting had to be done before 8 am the next morning. ALL OF THE PAINTING!

That includes the ceiling too! Took me the entire day and till about 10 pm before I was done. It was painful. Remember the part about being on a fucking plane all night?

It looks pretty fan-fucking-tastic though. See for yourself:

This pictures is taken from the east wall lookin west, you can see the door to the dining room straight ahead. This is a new view because before there were walls in the way and the only way to see the dining room was from the doorway to the kitchen (which is also gone!)

You can also see my fabulous paint job in this picture including the ceiling. The walls on this side, and the ceiling are cream.

This view is taken from in front of the staircase. The pipe is now all closed up. Yay and you can once again see the beautiful newly painted ceiling!

This pic doesn’t show the colour very well, it has a stupid ass name – Cottage Door. I’m fucking serious – Cottage Door. But it’s pretty much green. I really only like about 4 colours so if you know me and guessed green well that doesn’t really make you a scientist does it.

If you’ve been to my house, this colour is half way between my dining room and the wall going up the stairs.

I’m hopin in the next post I’ll be able to show you my new floor!
